Fall Family Weekend

The CSW Sustainability Committee, in collaboration with the IDEA Committee, led an all-school presentation on climate justice and environmental racism. Covering key concepts and case studies on food deserts and air pollution, we concluded by sharing resources and encouraging community involvement.
Coordinating School Trip to Harvard University

CSW Sustainability Committee members and trustees attended the Harvard book launch of Oxford Professor Neta Crawford, a former CSW trustee and parent, where she discussed *The Pentagon, Climate Change, and War* and the military’s role in fossil fuel dependence. Students valued the opportunity to engage in discussions on climate change and its broader implications.
Green Moveout

I led the Sustainability Committee in setting up donation bins in all four dorms to collect reusable clothing and items during cleanup week. With support from the head of boarding life, we organized donations by category and distributed them to local charities through the Community Engagement (CE) Program.

I led the design of four climate awareness posters using Canva, featuring the message "OUR PLANET NEEDS YOU," the Committee’s name, a QR code, and impactful images. After approval, they were displayed in dorms and academic buildings to boost engagement.
Weston Town Clean Up

I spearheaded the Sustainability Committee’s participation in the 2023 Weston Town Cleanup, collaborating with math faculty member Anne Meinke and the Sustainable Weston Action Group (SWAG). Despite limited turnout, our team actively cleaned trails and parks before celebrating with a well-deserved meal.

I led a Committee initiative to promote sustainability at CSW by encouraging small actions like turning off lights and improving compost signage. I organized reminder posters, labeled switches, and redesigned dining hall signs, working both during meetings and beyond to implement these changes.

Leading members of the CSW Sustainability Committee member, our team in partnership with housing administration and dining service hosted a reusable bag desgning program. Here, 80+ residential students designed their own reusable bags, increasing student engagement in sustainability efforts.
